Upwage

Upwage is an AI startup that helps jobseekers find (and thrive in) roles they love. The problem is simple: companies screen on arbitrary criteria that don’t actually predict fit. Upwage helps by providing interviewing agents that lead candidates through thoughtful, nuanced conversations meticulously designed to measure mutual fit. Their philosophy holds that AI shouldn’t replace human-to-human conversations, but it can help candidates think through career decisions and share the right information during early-stage interviews.

I began working with Upwage in November 2023 and joined full time as the head of product in May 2025. For the majority of my tenure, I operated as the company’s lone designer, helping drive growth from $120K to over $2M ARR.
